STUDENT COUNSELLING

ROLE OF STUDENT COUNSELLING

The Counsellor provides a free and confidential service to any student who is in any difficulty or who has issues of concern that they need to discuss. S/he works with the student to facilitate self awareness and to develop coping strategies to deal with the inevitable ups and downs of life.  The Student Counselling Service also offers support at times of crisis. Issues that are brought to the counsellor include academic difficulties, personal, social and mental health issues or welfare issues.

WHY COUNSELLING?

Every person goes through times that are difficult for them either personally, in their relationships or in their work/study. Many people find that it can be hard to talk to friends/family during this time. This is quite normal. Student Counselling services offer the opportunity to come and talk to a professional counsellor in private to help resolve these issues. So if a student finds that something is interfering in some way with their college life, they can go and see their college Counsellor.
